In the wake of large-scale construction work around the Planai's stadium– the new Restaurant „Hohenhaus Tenne“ and the new ski slope development on the eastern slope - Phil Saxena, the well known UCI course builder has will take the opportunity to produce from „on of the best mountain bike world cup courses in the world“ probably „the best …“!

In the next few days it's time - the english course design Guru - Phil Saxena - comes to Schladming to check out all of the modification possibilities and variations for the 4x and Downhill courses together with the Planai team and world cup organising committee.

In conjunction with the current earth moving projects the 4x course will be made more selective, more technical, more demanding and above all the course will be built so that exciting 1 on 1 fights will be seen right to the very last second of every race for both the men and women.

This is also the case for the downhill course - with help from Rob Warner, one of the most experienced downhill riders from the International Giant Team, the course will become faster, more difficult and enhanced with new forrest passages. Also the local heroes Markus Pekoll and Mathias Haas will be involved for a little extra creative input. Naturally the main work for the course construction lay in the proven hands of the staff fron the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen.
